This past weekend was a tad strange because there must have been some deal on wedding favors or something because the celebrities ran to the altar to hitch the wagon in droves. Among them were;
Martin Lawrence and Shamicka Gibbs
Martin Lawrence, 45 tied the knot with longtime girlfriend Shamicka Gibbs, 35, this weekend. This couple has been together for over a decade which is amazing. Considering that Martin has been in tough relationships before, it was probably a very scary move for him. The couple decided to hold the ceremony in his backyard and in attendance were some very notable guests such as Eddie Murphy, Denzel Washington and others. The couples 3 daughters were all flower girls including 9 year old Amara, 7 year old Iyana and 14 year old Jasmine from Lawrence’s previous marriage. They kept it very intimate and held the reception on the Beverly Hills property as well.
John Krasinski and Emily Blunt
In a much more extravagant wedding, John Krasinski (from The Office), 30, and Emily Blunt (from The Devil Wears Prada), 27, exchanged vows in Villa D’este in Como, Italy. The bride adorned a 3 carat Edwardian and platinum diamond ring that costs somewhere in the vicinity of $100,000. According to UsMagazine, she wore a “cream, chiffon, sweetheart-draped Marchesa gown with embroidered detail.” Unlike the Lawrence’s above, this couple have only known each other since 2008, but they’ve been a couple ever since. They have apparently been holed up in George Clooney’s villa in Italy since the 4th of July weekend getting all of the arrangements together. George and John shared the screen in Leatherheads and he was also in attendance at the wedding with his girlfriend Elisabetta Canalis. John noted that the wedding on The Office was a great way to have a practice run through of the real thing.
Carrie Underwood and Mike Fisher
Top 40 Grammy winning country megastar Carrie Underwood, 27, said “I Do” to Ottawa Senators hockey player Mike Fisher, 30, in a ceremony in Greensboro, Georgia. The event that apparently cost somewhere in the vicinity of a half a million dollars took place under a lakeside tent. Probably doesn’t matter though since People magazine was rumored to have paid $2 million dollars to have exclusive access to the event. Guess we know what the next cover will be for People magazine. The wedding took place in Greensboro, GA at Reynolds Plantation. Carrie was said to have worn a Chantilly lace Monique Lhuillier gown and Monique also designed the bridesmaid dresses as well. The couple was spotted at LAX for their honeymoon that is to take place in Bora Bora and Tahiti.
Carmelo Anthony and LaLa Vazquez
The names may not be familiar to some, but sports fans definitely know Carmelo Anthony,26, as one of the many stars from the Denver Nuggets. LaLa Vasquez, 31, has been in many film and TV roles including Soul Plane and You Got Served, but was also on many TV shows like Charm School with Ricki Lake, Flava Of Love, I Love New York 2, etc. Yeah, those shows. The wedding took place in Manhattan and was heavily attended by many NBA players including LeBron James who was boo’ed when he arrived. But the stars were out as also in attendance were Justin Timberlake, Spike Lee, Kim Kardashian (with hubbie Lamar Odom), Serena Williams, Ludacris and many others. According to CBS News, the wedding “featured towering marble columns and chandeliers, and was decorated using red tablecloths, centerpieces of red Ecuadorian roses, hundreds of candles and thousands of red roses hanging from the high ceiling.” And if that doesn’t seem over the top, the couple, who have been engaged since 2004, sent out red and gold invitations that were decorated with Swarovski crystals and delivered in a black box featuring their initials. Good God.
Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are not a happy couple. It’s not rocket science. It started as a torrid affair and blossomed into a very ugly thing. Sorry. that is my complete honest opinion. I don’t have any ill will towards either of them and they are both incredible actors who are among the best in their industry. They have also both been voted the “Sexiest Alive” this, “Most Beautiful” the other and “World’s Sexiest” whatever, multiple times over. The problem is that every time you see Brad Pitt’s face in a current photo, it screams “Someone save me.”
Yes, there are multiple photos of the couple happy and ecstatic, but hey, prescription drugs are available to everyone. Brad Pitt is trapped in a relationship with a very beautiful woman that he simply doesn’t love. And now he’s even more cemented in with multiple children that would prove to be very costly to run from. One of which (Shiloh) desperately wants to be a boy according to Vanity Fair’s latest interview with Jolie. Are we really making an issue of a child that is having an identity crisis in thathousehold? How any of them have their head screwed on straight is beyond me. This includes Brad who jumped out of the frying pan and into the fire.
In the interview, Jolie also mentions that the two of them don’t feel any need to get married because it feels like they already are. I’m going to cry wolf here and wager a bet that Pitt doesn’t want to get married because it will cost a lot more when he finally finds his package and walks into the sunset.
Surely I can’t be the only one who sees the strain of a bad relationship gone very, very bad. Angelina puts on a good face, but she is a loon. Brad Pitt doesn’t love her. I just can’t see it in his face. I even strive to find it. Not there. Empty like a cave of woe. I just think that he got his wires crossed during their affair and as he was running away, he realized that he left his heart with Jennifer Aniston.
It’s like getting to the airport late and realizing that you left your luggage at home but you can’t go back and get it. You still go on the trip, but new clothes are very expensive and they don’t fit like the ones you had. And you can’t wait to get back to your stuff again and resume life as normal, but you’ve bought way too many clothes and all of them are non-refundable. So you just cancel your flight back and keep buying clothes. hm. sad.
Megan Fox and Brian Austin Green rushed off to Hawaii to make it official in a small ceremony of friends and family. This is not a typical Hollywood or L.A. relationship though since the two have been together since 2004 which is like a decade in Tinseltown years. They dated and stayed together for over 6 years which is very impressive and shockingly normal. They met on the set of the show Hope and Faith and even years later still look to be blissfully happy together. This is the first marriage for both of them, but Brian has a child with his ex-girlfriend Vanessa Marcil.
TMZ just posted photos of the couple finally showing off their wedding rings on a beach excursion (shown here). There are some Hollywood relationships that seem doomed from the start, but considering that the couple have stayed in a healthy relationship for years before hitching the wagon is a fantastic jumpstart. All I can say is congratulations. Where the heck are the wedding photos?
The stories have been hot and heavy about the greatly anticipated engagement of Renee Zellweger and Bradley Cooper. Unfortunately, they aren’t true. While the two are most certainly dating, the rumor mills just couldn’t stop speculating. The madness started when Renee Zellweger was spotted searching for wedding dresses and then to make matters worse was then spotted with Bradley Cooper dining with her parents.
The beautiful couple had starred together in the film Case 39, and started dating back in July 2009, so they are creeping up on a year together which in Hollywood relationships is practically common law marriage. Regardless, Bradley gets a kick reading about how his love life is going from the tabloid rags, but reps from both parties say NO to saying YES.

1) Alicia Keys and Swizz Beatz
We covered this previously a couple of weeks ago and we said that not only was singer/pianist Alicia Keys and Swizz Beatz engaged, but that she also looked pregnant to us. We were right! I love it when we’re right. This will be Swizz Beatz second marriage. His first marriage just recently came to an end and he has a child from the relationship. The ink on his first divorce is barely dry, but if you’re going to have a fall back girl, Alicia Keys is a fantastic catch. Alicia has never been previously married, but also has never been pregnant. We’re sure that the two will make beautiful music together both in and out of the studio, but it’s still shocking that she accepted all of the drama that will come with this. The couple will get married in France this coming July.
2) Miranda Lambert and Blake Shelton
Country music has its collection of hot women and hot guys, but no one saw that two of their hottest stars would decide that they needed to be together. So is the case with Miranda Lambert and Blake Shelton who quietly got engaged last month in the, um,…woods. Blake proposed to Miranda while they were in the woods in Tishomingo, Oklahoma which is where she lives. See? I told you people actually lived in Oklahoma. In towns called Tishomingo. Either way, the couple did the dating thing behind the curtains and when they came out, they were happily engaged to be married. No wedding date has been set and the engagement is confirmed by both parties.
3) Joanna Garcia and Nick Swisher
The Gossip Girl’s Joanna Garcia aka Bree Buckley, gets engaged to NY Yankee outfielder Nick Swisher aka Nick Swisher. It apparently happened a month ago and they attempted to keep it quiet, but Joanna couldn’t keep a very good secret as she started going out and about with that huge rock on her finger. Garcia is obviously a hot commodity since she was previously engaged to Justin Timberlake’s business partner Trace Ayala. Not certain what happened there, but it appears that it didn’t work out for them. Either way, Joanna and Nick have been together since September of last year and it looks like it is ON! Just like that huge rock on her wedding digit.

4) Bonnie Wright and Jamie Campbell Bower
Their real names may not be familiar to many, but their characters are. Bonnie Wright plays Ginny Weasley in the uber-popular Harry Potter movies and Jamie Campbell Bower plays Caius in the Twilight Series: New Moon film. Now that we’re on the same page, the more shocking revelation is that Bonnie Wright is a mere 19 years old. While that may be “over the hill” in a secluded Indian tribe, it’s kind of scary in the normal populated world. But love is love and they certainly are financially stable enough to support themselves, so go on you crazy kids. As long as you don’t have to live in your parents basement, knock yourselves out. Their relationship began in October of 2009 and it’s believed that Jamie proposed back in April although it’s just coming to light now. Sources close to the couple say that they are madly in love. And for those of us who are over 40, we can now roll our eyes as we recall how madly in love we would get back in our teens. I barely remember names. Not saying that it’s not the real deal, but a step on the brakes may be appropriate to slow this bus down a little. Stay engaged until you’re old enough to legally have a drink with the girls and then make that jump. Either way, they are engaged and on our list.
5) Valerie Bertinelli and Tom Vitale
After a long abusive and drug riddled marriage to rocker Eddie Van Halen, Valerie Bertinelli filed for divorce and walked away from over 2 and half decades of a marriage that most of America saw as a match made in idol heaven. The world’s most well known rock guitarist married to the world’s best known TV actress (at the time). I personally think that she is still mega hot. As we covered a couple of weeks back, after the divorce, Valerie then began a relationship with Tom Vitale who was her financial planner. That’s a good person to have on your side in a divorce of that magnitude. Tom proposed to Valerie during a trip they took to Florence Italy. He was extremely nervous even though he had no reason to be since Valerie was extremely excited and quickly accepted. No decisions have been made as to when or where the two will tie the knot, but Valerie is certainly ready for a fresh new start and Valerie says that Tom will do most of the wedding planning since he’s very into that and probably wants to keep an eye on the purse strings.
Not wedding related, I know, but something you probably should know. Corey Haim, was found dead this morning at his mothers home from an apparent drug overdose. Haim has been in rehab numerous times already for addiction to cocaine and Valium. The actor found teen heartthrob status when appearing in the film Lucas with Winona Ryder and Charlie Sheen. He’s best known for his part as a terrified vampire killer in The Lost Boys with Kiefer Sutherland along with his off-screen long time friend Corey Feldman with whom he starred with in the very short lived TV series The Two Corey’s” which was canceled after only 2 episodes.
Comedian Russell Brand and fiancee Katy Perry are anxiously planning their wedding, but Russell has a different idea about how to keep his big day memorable. Brand has announced that he wants the entire wedding to be done in the nude. Not only will Russell and Katy be naked, but they’re also requesting that the entire wedding party and even the guests be in the nude also.
While nude weddings aren’t new for say, nudists, the probability that Katy’s parents will be thrilled to attend their daughters first walk down the aisle in the buff is a stretch. Being a parent of three daughters, I can tell you that it will be a chilly day in hell before I let my daughters walk down the aisle nude in front of friends and family and anyone who cares to pull it up on the web.
Some say that this simply a publicity stunt and I’ll side on that line of thinking as well because Katy may be on this side of crazy, but she’s not that far removed from reality. What do you think?

Ok, yeah. This one came onto the scene and then disappeared and now is back again. Megan Fox and Brian Austin Green are apparently engaged again and the rumor mills are a buzz. When asked about the engagement, Brian Austin Green noted on his Twitter account, “Engaged and have a son from my previous relationship.” Since then, the post was taken down and the account was also closed. There’s been no input from Megan’s camp.
The Verdict: False. While this would be a great boon for Green, Megan Fox is the most sought after actress not only in film, but also in her personal life. Everyone wants Megan Fox and she certainly knows that taking herself of the market is career suicide and part of what makes her sexy is because she’s available. It is certainly not her acting skills.

2) Paul McCartney and Nancy Shevell
Paul McCartney is rumored to be engaged to Nancy Shevell from New York City and they were just seen together at the Golden Globes. She’s known the McCartney family for over 20 years and comes from a wealthy family so she doesn’t have any need for Paul’s money in the shadow of a divorce with Heather Mills who walked away with $49 Million after the very nasty divorce. While friends and family had an issue with Paul’s ex Heather Mills, everyone loves Nancy including Paul’s 38 year old daughter.
Verdict: True. Let’s face it, Paul is an all or nothing type of guy and he has to be in a relationship to be happy. As he gets older, that desire simply isn’t going away. Family and friends have already bought into it, so if it isn’t true, it will be soon.

3) Miley Cyrus is Engaged to Liam Hemsworth
The rumor mill is abuzz about Miley Cyrus getting engaged to 20 year old Liam Hemsworth. This rumor got jumpstarted when Miley appeared at a Grammy Awards ceremony wearing an engagement ring. Ok, let’s go ahead and not even talk about this now.
Verdict: False.Heck no. Don’t believe it. Not only is she too young to get married, but her father would never let that happen at this stage of her career. I see her hitching the wagon about 10 years from now, but not right now.
4) Derek Jeter and Minka Kelly Are Engaged

Baseball hero Derek Jeter is rumored to be engaged to Minka Kelly, the actress from Friday Night Lights. The New York Post is even reporting that they already have the wedding venue picked out at the Oheka Castle. Sorry. While it seems like there’s enough evidence to back this up, I’m going to cry foul ball on this.
Verdict: False. This is one of those that could swing either way. No pun intended. But with all of the drama that follows Derek Jeter on a regular basis and his well documented exploits, I find it hard to believe that he’s getting engaged this quickly jumping into a relationship of this magnitude. So, I’ll say false for now, but maybe true later on in the year.

5) Russell Brand and Katy Perry
Comedian/Actor Russell Brand and singer Katy Perry supposedly are planning to tie the knot. These two are certifiably insane and made for each other, but are they really engaged? While the couple has been seen attached at the hip at multiple events, it’s not known if the relationship is anything more than just that.
Verdict: hmmm, False. While they may be in a relationship, I’m not buying the engagement. They may have talked about it and even wear rings, but the two of them are individually unstable, so I don’t see this working out.

Hulk Hogan pointed out the engagement ring to TMZ photographers at the LAX airport and said that she could be the next Mrs. Hogan. Her name is Jennifer McDaniel and she even showcased a “lovely” tattoo of his first name (Terry) that she had tattooed on her right wrist. While Penelope Cruz refuses to confirm the rumor, we’re going to push it as fact simply because she refuses to deny it. But when she appeared at a premiere with a sapphire and diamond engagement ring on her ring finger, it was her way of letting people into her private life. Women get ridiculously excited when they get engaged, so this was her way of publicly gushing.
