The rumor started when a restaurant camera caught LeAnn Rimes and her Northern Lights costar Eddie Cibrian kissing. The photo (shown right) shows Eddie standing up and leaning over the table for a passionate kiss with the superstar country singer. Then the video was released by Us Magazine that additionally shows the couple holding hands and cuddling. Two days went by without word from either camp until within 24 hours of each other, Cibrian released a statement saying to Access Hollywood that, “It is a fabricated story that is using random snapshots as connective tissue to create a scandalous relationship.”
Seemed like the rumor would be dead in the water and people would just have to believe what they wanted and leave it at that. But how exciting could that possibly be? Obviously LeAnn Rimes people didn’t talk with Cibrians’ camp because LeAnn then admitted to the affair. She stated on her website for her fans to “Have faith…. This is a difficult time for me and my loved ones, but I appreciate all your continued support,” she writes. “I would like to assure all of you that this is a place for you to hear things directly from me and as you all know, not everything in our lives is always black and white.” which essentially admits to the affair, because a “No it didn’t happen” means “No it didn’t happen“. The statement she actually released could be translated as, “Yes, it happened, but its a little more detailed than what you know and I can’t talk about this right now.”
While we all love LeAnn, things do happen. LeAnn is married to her backup dancer Dean Sheremet in Dallas, Texas in February 2002. And Cibrian is married to Brandi Glanville and has two sons (Mason who is 5 and Jake who is almost 2). Cibrian stands a lot to lose with his up and coming stardom and children to boot. So this is not good.
So what do you think? Was this just a “thing” that was a mistake of the moment? Does anyone buy into that? Or could it possibly a false rumor that the network fabricated to boost ratings for the show?
